    My mother has had a very good experience at the Laurels, she is happy with the environment which is always clean, the activities, and most of the staff. I have had caring phone calls and conversations with the nurses and social workers and have been helped by the front desk staff and the business office staff as well. The doctor has stabilized her medical issuesas well. I appreciate the ongoing care and concern she has received.

    Horrible nursing home.... Staff to patient ratio is just awful..... They desperately need more staff. The food is worse than awful. Waaaaay too few physical therapists. The plumbing is so old that the rooms smell and feces actually backed up into the shower in my husband's room. It was disgusting. There are no phones in the rooms, so you either have to call the nurses station and if they answer, they carry the portable phone to the patients room or the patient must have a cell phone. It was impossible to get the Dr, nurse practitioner or physician assistant to call me to get information. You have to sit there all day every day to try and catch the Dr. VERY FRUSTRATING. Beware!!! Enter at your own risk!!!

    It has been awful about communication with family members especially me. I am so tired of constant excuses for everything from lack of Basic Care in this home and all the homes in the State of Va. It is all about Money and a bout the paycheck. Reality iis maybe one out of 8 employee have any compassion for the elderly. It really frustrating to deal with Nursing Homes today. You don't care period. Tired of all the concerns I give no one listens or cares. Today this world is full of self-centered people in the Corap of NH. Hire some good people and pay them a decent salary and cut out the Hotel Decorations and use that money for CARE............

    Photos are misleading, nursing staff could care less, there is close to a 30 MINUTE WAIT TIME when they ring the bell for help and assistance..Steer clear of this place!

    Stayed six weeks for rehab for broken leg. Would go back again if necessary. Generally caring staff. Good physical therapy.
