    Staff were friendly and helpful. Appeared a celebration for staff was having some scheduling impacts, but everyone stays up beat and positive. It was very clean and had nice garden areas. My sister received excellent care.

    My grandmother, who has Alzheimer's, stayed here for a short while and at first this place seemed really great but after a while things started to change. First they complain when you don't bring personal items and then when you do they lose all of them. My family and I told the nurses specifically we would take her laundry home and wash it ourselves and bring it back but they kept taking her clothing and lost all but a few items. We've seen other residents i her clothing. We have also overheard the nursing staff complaining about changing the patients and feeding them. We have also overheard the man who gives the mess each day complaining about the amount of people he has to attend to each day. I don't believe it is proper employee etiquette to complain about your patients in front of them and their families. We had to constantly ask the staff to change my grandmothers diapers. When my grandmother arrived at her new place of residence they discovered that she had incontinence sores and rashes from the staff at Alaska gardens not changing and taking care of her like they were required to. Wouldn't recommend this place.

    Yesterday I went to Alaska Gardens to check it out and make sure it was up to my mothers/families standards. Yes, it is! we met with Jennifer C. who was so helpful in answering our many questions and addressing our concerns. We had an additional request that the Community Relations Director, Misty C. went over and beyond in accommodating for my mothers and our family's needs. Thank you Alaska Gardens :)
